Dholpur Beige Honed Sandstone, alternatively known as Dholpur Creme, has a long history of being used as a building stone. Due to its characteristics like regular bedding, uniform grain size, suitable nature, and endurance, it has been used in the construction of historical buildings and monuments. Dholpur Beige Honed sandstone is normally used as an outdoor flooring material like garden pathways, passages, and lawn. It is also used in a major quantum for wall cladding on various buildings of importance in India. Providing a light brown hue to the buildings, it is amongst the prime choice for cladding. Dholpur Beige Honed sandstone is mined at Sarmathura, district Karoli, Rajasthan, and North West India.
